The government is providing another £1 million for the Scottish Green Bus Fund. The subsidy exists to help transport partnerships, bus operators, and local enterprises to purchase low carbon emission buses for public transportation.
The Scottish Green Bus Fund has already benefited from an investment of more than £3 million from the government. The government sees the Scottish Green Bus Fund as an essential element in helping to achieve the dramatic environmental goals of Scotland for 2020 and 2050.
By continuing to provide funds to source environmental solutions like low carbon buses more jobs and manufacturing are created along with the economic and environmental equations. The Scottish Government aim is not only to achieve huge environmental conservation, but to seize prospects in the green marketplace, as well. The winning bids for the Scottish Green Bus Fund should be announced within a few weeks time.
